Welcome to our March newsletter!
We would like to welcome three new starters to the ever-expanding Premium Strata team this month! Shelly and Reema joined us as assistant strata managers, and Jacqueline is our new receptionist. We are very excited to have them on board.

Can NSW Owners Corporation tow your car?
A resident in NSW wanted to know whether his unregistered project vehicle, parked in his assigned parking space without causing any disturbance, can be towed away by the Owners Corporation.

Question: We are lot owners in a small scheme strata in NSW. How often should our fire safety inspection be done? The company who is currently performing our Fire Safety Inspections is performing them every 3 months, which seems excessive to me.
The First Collective Sales Cases Hit the Land and Environment Court

The new laws allow a strata scheme to be sold or redeveloped with the agreement of 75% of the owners and an order made by the Land & Environment Court. Not surprisingly, however, up until recently there have been no reported cases where the Land & Environment Court has dealt with an application to permit the collective sale or redevelopment of a strata scheme under the new laws.
Q&A Window locks for strata – admin or capital works fund expense?

Question: Our Strata Complex is about to install the new child window locks pursuant to the requirements under the Strata Schemes Management Act (NSW) 2015. What costs are associated with the two respective Funds, in this instance for the fitting of the window locks? Should expenses relating to the installation be charged to the admin or the capital works fund?
