We have by-laws for vehicles. 1 car is allowed per carport, but can taxis be regulated under this bylaw?
Answer: Regulating taxis is much more difficult than vehicles of owners and occupiers who are bound by the by-law applicable to the scheme.

In terms of the by-laws you have with the one car per carport, presumably, a taxi could stand or park in the car space and not be in breach of the by-law.
We have seen other schemes erect signage to the effect that “TAXIS – Please do not sound horn at any time”.
A solution might also be to pass a management by-law restricting taxis on the common property.
