Strata Law Reforms: By-law breach fines to increase

In summary, fines will double and for the first time these fines will typically be paid to the strata plan. If the offender reoffends within 12 months, the fines increase dramatically to thousands of dollars, creating a real incentive to change behaviours.

Of course, executive committee’s can’t simply issue fines at will. They need a committee meeting (or the strata manager) to issue a Notice To Comply and then take you to NCAT if you breach the same by-law again.
